Hornbill further expands range of Best-of-Breed options for customers of Supportworks
Hornbill Systems, a leading provider of IT support and service management solutions today announced its range of Supportworks helpdesk solutions, including its ITIL compatible ITSM and IT Helpdesk templates, are now available with out-of-the-box integration with Altiris® remote management solutions, Deployment Solution™(DS) and Altiris Carbon Copy®. This builds on Hornbill's ‘Open Integration Policy' to provide a series of pre-fabricated Connectors that provide seamless integration to third party products enabling customers to choose the systems best suited to their infrastructure.
Altiris DS provides a centralised deployment solution for servers, desktops, notebooks and handheld devices. Hornbill's Integration Connector gives access to the data and tools provided by Altiris DS through the Supportworks interface. The integration also provides automated synchronisation of assets between Altiris and the Supportworks Asset Database. The Altiris Carbon Copy Remote Control tool can also be invoked through Supportworks to remote control applications for managing and supporting network and mobile-based users, enabling helpdesks to support more customers without expanding numbers of helpdesk staff.
Gerry Sweeney, Managing Director at Hornbill Systems commented, "Supportworks ESP is a flexible application platform and development environment that enables integration with any system that is built upon open standards. Other support desk solutions are often designed to work with just one or two other products which may force customers to make a compromise decision when choosing new or replacement service management solutions. Supportworks has been designed to integrate with most of the complementary desktop, server, mobile device and network management systems in common use today."
Mr. Sweeney continued, "At Hornbill we have been providing ad-hoc integration and data synchronisation between Supportworks and a diverse range of other applications for many years. Our ‘Open Integration Policy' formalises this way of working and ensures that our customers have the flexibility to choose from a range of best-of-breed solutions."
